Gary Ablett Jr.'s induction into the Australian Football Hall of Fame, was well worth the long expected wait. Alongside, four other inductees and a legend. Gary Ablett Jr. out weighs them all. With two Brownlow Medals and 8 All-Australian blazers to his name (already in elite company), and the band beinging a part of the winning premiership side for Geelong in 2007, and 2009, it just shows that he was not just a impactful player, but a crucial, game-changing element for Gold Coast and Geelong, with a career spanning eighteen years. Ablett Jr., alongside his father, Ablett Sr. must both be inducted as legends, next year. With a combined 1476 goals, 12 All-Australian blazers, and three Coleman Medals, and a Norm Smith Medal (being the losing team), for Ablett Sr. The detrimental impact of these two as a footy family, will remain unmatched for decades, if not, centuries to come. Why hasn't Ablett Sr (and Jr, for that matter) been inducted as HoF legends, the question will remain for now.
